    Alvey Float Reel

Definitely an underrated reel which i used for fishing garfish and tommie ruff. Used with flexie R55 road which works well. Used 6 ib mono line .
Need to kep lubricated well hence would like Alvey to come out with their own grease againwhich is erect to use with these reels. (Found some new old stock)

I fish with alvey nearly 20 years no issue until now...

I bought my alvey float as left handed with the beautiful yellow alvey colour... but it was a problem with index plate spring it doesn't lock fully flat like the old version I got .
Secondly the first use for this beautiful float reel on rock fishing chasing blackfish.. so I tried to try the Ratchet but after I test it something go wrong from inside so I open it and i saw the spring its out of position so i put it back in postion and I tried the Ratchet again but no sound I open again and I noticed the brace parts attached on the to make the sound turning when the Ratchet its on I wasn't happy about what happened on the spot and I was lucky because I have another spare alvey with me so I didn't catch any fish with my new float. after that I contacted you Guys about it and you told me to send back to fix it thank you for the great service with free charge anyway you replace the spring lock to the index plate but honestly nothing change it still same issue ..and about brass plate you used superglue to glue it that's mean it's temporary fix it must be two small brass pine fitted all the way to the spool for better seport.... I spoke couple days ago with B-Alvey about my alveys index I have 4 with same issue the spring not lock well on
the index plate and he told me how to fix it with som filling the index plate..... I have 2 brand new alvey reel and 2 used with new Left handed index plate and he explained to me the new index plate cut by lazer machine that's why a bit diffrent then the old one , but honestly why I have to work on brand new reels or new parts to feet in well and I've been used my old alvey reels nearly 20 years.. and I'll continue use this great reel .
Alvey reel are great but some part need a little focusing attention like index plate .. because index plate we used in each cast ... also Ratchet brass part should two brass pin go through the spool it will be more stronger .

    Thank you 😊

Thank you for the great service.
